Professor - Chemistry teaches courses in the discipline area of chemistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Chemistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Chemistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Part-time Chemistry Professor - Continuous Pool

    Clark College is currently seeking to fill multiple part-time Chemistry Professor positions. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

     


    General Faculty Responsibilities
    • Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
    • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
    • Pursue professional development.
    • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques. 
    • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
    • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

    Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

    • Master's Degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field (with significant graduate coursework in chemistry).
    • Teaching experience.
    • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
    • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

    Salary StatementLecture hourly rate is $85.48, and lab hourly rate is $73.01.
