Professor - Chemistry teaches courses in the discipline area of chemistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Chemistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Chemistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Job Summary/Basic Function
    Tutor WSU students in Chemistry at the Ogden Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on an individual appointment and/or drop-in basis. Availability for appointments is determined by the tutor. We require and provide training in tutoring techniques.

    **This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

    Required Qualifications
    • Must be a WSU student.
    • Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
    • A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
    • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Ability to tutor many different courses.
