    Job Description

    The Department of Chemistry at the Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Donald L. Castleman/FCR Missouri Endowed Professorship of Discovery in Chemistry. The position is open to all areas of chemistry with additional consideration being given to research associated with resource sustainability and biological chemistry. The Professorship is expected to foster interdisciplinary, collaborative research, education, and be committed to mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The successful applicant is expected to have a strong record of sustained extramural funding and be internationally recognized in their field as well as demonstrate evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The endowment offers a lucrative annual research support funding that allows the candidate to excel in high quality scholarly activities. The salary and start-up funding will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and potential.

    The chemistry department at Missouri S&T has recently renovated research and teaching laboratories and boasts well-funded, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research faculty with a large breadth of research expertise. The department is also well-equipped with core instrumentation facilities () required for experimental research. The university has various research centers including a Center for Biomedical Research, Center for High Performance Computing, Materials Research Center, and Center for Research in Energy and Environment.
