The university seeks to fill one full-time tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, beginning August 2024. A successful candidate will teach the one-year Organic Chemistry sequence, General Organic & Biochemistry, develop upper-level courses in their area of expertise and oversee undergraduate research projects. Preference will be given to applicants with experience with instrumentation and employing student-centered learning strategies. Additional responsibilities include preparing and assessing curriculum, recruiting, advising and retaining students, and service on university committees. The position requires a doctorate in chemistry or a related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered.

This faculty position will join the Sciences and Mathematics department. The department has twelve full-time faculty members as well as two lab managers who offer a supportive environment for academic and professional development. Undergraduate major offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Biochemistry, plus B.A. degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. The department also offers a minor in Nutrition and Food Science. The department maintains GC-MS, HPLC, 90 MHz NMR, ATR/FT-IR, Fluorometer, among other research-quality instrumentation.
