Professor - Biology jobs in Oklahoma
Professor - Biology teaches courses in the discipline area of biology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Biology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Biology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. The School of Science and Aeronautics is seeking and Assistant Professors for Biology to begin Fall 2024.
The Assistant Professor has the primary responsibility of instruction in the classroom for students enrolled in Biology courses, as well as ensuring the success and retention of students while maintaining high academic standards.
- Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Biology or Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology.
Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.- Preferred Qualifications
Prefer teaching experience at the community college or university level.
