    Job Summary 
    The School of Coastal Resilience in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Biological Sciences with specialization in Zoology to begin in the 2024-2025 academic year.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester and possible courses include undergraduate introductory biology majors and non-major’s courses (lectures and labs), sophomore-level general zoology, and upper- level zoology, behavioral, or other advanced biology courses related to the successful applicant’s academic specialty.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

    1. Teach freshman introductory majors and non-majors courses and laboratories as well as sophomore level zoology courses and junior/senior level zoology courses or other elective courses as necessary
    2. Mentor teaching assistants in laboratories
    3. Collect and report assessment data
    4. Participate in appropriate committees and recruitment activities
    5. Teach online classes as needed
    6. Performs other duties as assigned.
