Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     JOB TITLE:   

    Open Rank Instructional Professor/Lecturer

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructional Professor/Lecturer position, beginning Fall 2024. This position is a 9-month faculty appointment in support of college-level, in-person and online undergraduate and graduate programs in Accounting, open in all areas of accounting. Approximately, 75-87.5% of time is devoted to teaching 6 (75% teaching) or 7 (87.5% teaching) course sections per year. 

    Those candidates seeking 75% teaching will be expected to have 15% of time dedicated to research, including the ability to complete and publish scholarly research in peer-reviewed scholarly outlets and maintain scholarly active status (average three peer-reviewed journal articles per five-year rolling period for AACSB accreditation). 

    Maintaining an active CPA license (or a closely related license) is a requirement for those seeking the 87.5% teaching load and is a positive for those seeking the 75% teaching load.

    The person who fills this position will be expected to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department’s faculty. Further, they will be expected to conduct quality peer-reviewed research that is published in peer-reviewed journals. Optimally, they will be expected to advise students in the department’s major and support related student activities, in addition to other institutional and professional service responsibilities. As such, the ideal candidate is a well-rounded academic who has interest in helping the college build a strong regional reputation.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Those candidates seeking the title of Instructional Professor must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting or a closely related discipline and the degree must be conferred before the start date.

    Those candidates seeking the title of Lecturer must have a Master's Degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline and the degree must be conferred before the start date.

    Rank will be decided based on qualifications and experience. 

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

    A demonstrated record of research publication in quality journals such as those listed on the Australian Business Dean’s Council list. Evidence of on-going quality research publication potential. An excellent teaching record. A strong service record including evidence of the ability to advise student organizations and effectively contribute to college strategic initiatives
