POSITION DESCRIPTION: The School of Business and Technology at Huston-Tillotson University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting. This is a full-time, 9-month position. The appointment begins in Fall 2022.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY: The school of Business and Technology offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Management, and Marketing, also a graduate MBA program. POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate is responsible for outstanding teaching through classroom engagement and participation in a face-to-face environment. The candidate also needs to be proficient in online teaching. The candidate must contribute intellectually through publications in quality journals and collaborate with their fellow peers. For the service component, the candidate will serve on committees at the college and university level, be actively involved in college recruitment, and advise students. The successful candidate is required to teach 12 hours (four classes) a semester.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: First preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Accounting; followed by a preference to those who have defended a dissertation proposal. The third preference is available to candidates who possess a masters degree in accounting. Preference will be given to candidates who have a CPA license or are in obtaining one. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching (both face to face and online), a commitment to intellectual contributions with publications in quality journals, and a desire to provide service to the university and the profession.
