Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Summary: The McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Accounting beginning August 2024. We are looking for candidates with expertise in financial accounting, and we are particularly excited about candidates passionate about cultivating multidisciplinary perspectives and collaborating in the fields of accounting, analytics, and finance. Queens University is committed to pursuing innovative program models that openly engage students in high-impact learning and scholarship. The ability to contribute to this vision through any or all of the following is also desirable: effective interdisciplinary teaching in the general education curriculum, the development of new accounting or business courses, contribution to the data science and data analytics programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, and contribution to the university honors program. This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked.
