- We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for Ford Steel in Elko, NV. The Production Supervisor reports to the General Manager and oversees all production activities, and ensures adherence to the safety guidelines and policies. Responsibilities: Manages production schedule to maximize utilization of production equipment and personnel to deliver the finished product in the time frame agreed upon with our customer Conducts daily production meetings to share information about the work being done that day and general information about the company Coordinates with the sales team to ensure production is planned based on priority jobs and meets all delivery dates Performs daily inspections of the physical warehouse to identify safety hazards and takes immediate action to correct Facilitates weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks to communicate safety ideas or concerns, educate employees on how to do their jobs safely, and solicit workplace improvement ideas Attends and participates in the monthly Safety Leadership Team meetings Completes incident reports by identifying what happened, the root cause, and taking the appropriate corrective action Ensures that all equipment is serviced correctly and utilized for the intended purpose and schedules repairs for equipment when needed Consults with the General Manager and sales team concerning all quality issues, non-conformance issues, and enhancements or changes to the quality process Evaluates the performance of production staff and assess the qualifications of applicants for hire Coaches employees for performance improvement and skill development Demonstrates, upholds, communicates, and enforces all company policies and procedures Other responsibilities and duties as directed by management and as needed Qualifications: 5 years of operational experience in plate processing 3 years of supervisory experience in a plate processing environment Extensive product and industry knowledge (carbon steel plate, burning, rolling and beveling) Ability to demonstrate leadership and develop programs to enhance the skill level of employees Ability to read drawings and technical specifications and identify errors Strong organizational skills, multitasking skills, and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software Good judgment and decision-making skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Professional communication and interpersonal skills Benefits: North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
