    Summary of Role:

    SWING SHIFT- Through cooperation and partnership with all departments in the Organization, Production Supervisors are responsible for building and leading effective production teams and for execution of the overall manufacturing strategy. Safety, quality, productivity, accountability, and the training and development of all production associates will be the primary focus for the individual in this role.


    What You’ll Do:

    • Lead the day-to-day production activities across all production lines
    • Responsible for ensuring that all department associates, including Leads, are properly trained on Standard Operating Procedures for all equipment and processes.
    • Responsible for an efficient plan of coordination with Sanitation, Quality and Warehouse, as well as with other shift Supervisors.
    • Responsible for adhering to production schedules and reporting causes and solutions for attainment shortfalls.
    • Responsible for staffing levels to make sure there is adequate production time, staffing, supplies, equipment and raw materials to achieve attainment goals.
    • Responsible for verifying the calibration of scales and base settings, ensuring that all Operator equipment is set to standard, ensuring the process and recipe-specific parameters are followed.
    • Responsible for ensuring Leads are trained to perform the essential functions of their position and holding them accountable for the performance of their shift team members.
    • Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure completion of administrative duties such as:

    o Time and attendance

    o Employment status changes

    o Time off approvals

    o Food Safety, GMP Policy compliance

    o Disciplinary action

    o Creation and distribution of staffing schedules

    o Auditing and Housekeeping compliance

    o True Root Cause analysis

    • Responsible for ensuring daily housekeeping duties are completed thoroughly and correctly
    • Responsible for correcting and/or reporting food safety issues and ensuring team members follow established SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs
    • Responsible for communicating day-to-day Department or Company activities using the appropriate communication tools, including but not limited to, shift reports, huddles, creating or following up on work orders, coordinating work efforts with other Department Supervisors, and sharing pertinent information with Leads and others.
    • Responsible for creating a team-oriented atmosphere, inspiring team members to strive towards a culture of Continuous Improvement.
    • Communicates performance to targets, accomplishments, and safety performance.
    • Leads and manages the change process and communicates pass-down information in a timely and positive manner.
    • Encourages the promotion of internal talent, offers development opportunities, and supports learning through coaching and feedback.
    • Responsible for ensuring new team members are progressing toward full competency.
    • Coaching and monitoring trainers to ensure training standards are adhered to and training process is followed.
    • Performs or initiates job skills validations for cross-trained, transferred or new team members.
    • Solicits input on team member performance; delivers performance evaluations.
    • Addresses and documents performance problems, progressive discipline, and delivers disciplinary actions.
    • Escalates serious or unresolved performance issues to Human Resources.
    • Responsible for ensuring all food safety policies and procedures are enforced.
    • Ensures positions specific data collection is performed accurately and on time
    • Audits Leads daily standard of work; Monitors and corrects deviations from standards and base settings.


    Skills, Requirements and Minimum Education Level

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 2-4 years of previous Supervisory experience
    • Understanding of basic mathematical calculations, reading, and record keeping
    • Food processing, or similar work experience strongly preferred
    • Ability to analyze machine operations and recommend or implement solution
    • Ability to operate equipment safely, and lock-out/tag-out equipment for cleaning and maintenance
    • Strong communication skills, including delegation, performance problem solving and conflict resolution
    • Ability to relate to, train and communicate in a variety of styles, comfortable with a culturally diverse work culture
    • Ability to understand and communicate in English
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish a huge plus
    • Ability to train employees and coach to drive performance; ability to deliver feedback on a regular basis
    • Ability to plan and organize and manage time effectively
    • Ability to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, SOPs, GMPs, employee handbook, etc.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)


    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

    · Positions require standing, repetitive movement, bending and twisting, and using hands to handle objects; repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs, exposure to sustained noise levels; exposure to a variety of food allergens; working in very hot and cold temperatures; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders and powered industrial vehicles. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

    · Ability to stand for 85-90% of shift, sometimes up to 12 hours.

    · Must be able to work in an environment containing allergens, such as gluten, eggs, tree nuts and milk.

    · Must be able to ascend and descend stairways, ladders, and ramps.

    · Must be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
