Job Details
This role requires manager level experience with dairy experience - butter, cheese, milk, ice cream, sour cream etc.
Strong leadership, experience developing a team, training exp. A degree would be preferred
Oversee the daily operation of the butter department. Support and enforce SQF / QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs.
Food Safety and Quality are the responsibilities of this position
This position has management and employee supervisory responsibilities in the area of discipline, performance evaluations, On the Job Training Forms, Incident Reports, and any other documentation.
Responsible for supervising, training / developing, and coaching the Butter Supervisor.
Attend daily staff meetings with the Plant Manager to coordinate daily Butter Room activities.
Review and approve employees' daily work schedules and time cards.
Review daily Butter Room efficiencies and reports.
Must be available to be contacted during off hours if needed.
Review CIP records daily.
Schedule all CIP procedures.
Audit sampling techniques and sanitation practices.
Provide training and evaluations as needed.
Review microbiology test results daily, investigate high counts and report findings to Production Superintendent.
Review list of any out-of-spec. product with Plant Superintendent and Quality Assurance Manager.
Check employee GMP's.
Verify that all plant equipment is in good working condition and that all preventative maintenance is being performed on a scheduled basis.
Education and / or Experience
A BS degree in Dairy or Food Science or other related field and four years of experience in a leadership role or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
