Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Coordinates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Supervisor monitors daily production results and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Additionally, Production Scheduler Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     The Production scheduler is responsible for scheduling manufacturing production for a three-shift operation. 


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    This position is responsible for scheduling three-shift operation; set priorities for all production jobs; and regulate the production schedule as required to handle special jobs. This position adjusts and modifies production schedules to compensate for material shortages and other delays, analyzes workload requirements, and recommends changes in the production schedule, lead times and stock levels in order to attain maximum efficiency of plant resources. The Production Scheduler acts as the focal point for responding to all operational and production problems. 


     · Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for a three-shift operation; 

    · Coordinates user input for processing of scheduled and unscheduled work; 

    · Schedules all computer processing jobs and adjusts the schedule when necessary; 

    · Communicates with Shipping, Customer Service, Plant Managers, Leads and Production floor personnel regarding revisions or     problems concerning schedules; 

    · Determines the correct order in which jobs should be run; 

    · Reads and interprets MRP, Backlog and “Late” reports; 

    · Coordinates rerun/restart efforts; 

    · Reschedules jobs as necessary when production problems or sudden high priority situations are encountered; 

    · Responds to emergency situations to resolve problems on or off-site; 

    · Maintains a hold status on all production jobs which cannot be processed due to a material shortage, offline equipment, etc.; 

    · Resolves complex error conditions (Incorrect item number setup, non-posting shop orders, missing records); 

    · Sets up and/or maintains production parameters to ensure that production is delivered in accordance with pre-established schedules; 

    · Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

    · Ability to meet tight timelines and works well under pressure.

    · Ability to complete reports as necessary. 

    · Act independently, stay on task and ability to meet deadlines.

    · Smoothly move from one task to another under limited supervision.

    · Adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines. 

    · Works effectively with teams through daily duties and operations, providing assistance as needed to ensure optimum results.

    · Take proper precautions and use all equipment safely and as trained.

    · Fully supports the Company’s commitment towards established Safety practices and policies.

    · Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

     
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function list above satisfactorily.  

    Requirements

    · Three years of experience in computer operation, production coordination or production scheduling, or production control.

    · Processing methods and procedures of large-scale ceramic manufacturing. 

    · Manual and automated manufacturing production scheduling. 

    · Automated job submission systems. 

    · Computer production scheduling and control techniques. 

    · Microsoft Office Suite (Primarily Outlook and Excel; Word and Access preferred)

    · ERP systems, with emphasis on MRP, Bill of Materials and Inventory Management

    · Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

    · Produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar. 

    · Communicate orally in the English language with customers, clients, and the public in face-to-face one-on-one settings, or using a telephone. 

    · Enter data or information into a terminal, PC, or other keyboard device. 

    · Operate a variety of standard office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements such as a calculator or computer keyboard. 

    · Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. 

    · Read and interpret reports and ERP system documentation. 

    · Determine the correct order in which jobs should be run. 

    · Schedule all manufacturing production jobs and adjust the schedule when necessary. 

    · Exercise discretion in handling confidential data. 

    · Read, interpret, and manipulate system utilities to correct error conditions and/or prevent potential production problems. 

    · Read, interpret, and manipulate data quickly and accurately using a computer to submit jobs to the automated scheduling system. 

    · Exercise independent judgment, organize, perform multiple tasks in a quick accurate, and efficient manner to meet production schedules.

     · Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. 

     · Performance will be measured against accomplishment of job responsibilities
