DESCRIPTION:

• Manage the overall activities of the molding department including but not limited to production, processing/troubleshooting, machine set up and continuous improvement.

· Direct and coordinate planning and scheduling of molding manufacturing with the Materials Manager to consistently meet expected product delivery schedules and inventory levels.
· This is a "Hand On" position requiring 80% plus of work requirements being executed on the Manufacturing floor.
· Managing and directing Team Leaders, Process Technicians and the Genera Manufacturing floor.
· Responsible for the development and implementation of both the long and short-term goals for the Molding department.
· Major responsibilities also include the implementation of fully qualified and documented production processes. This includes transitioning new tooling programs from the Nolato TDC Group by overseeing PQ runs, auditing production setups for adherence to the documented process, and identifying automation, scrap reduction, and productivity improvement opportunities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enforces Company Policy and recommends disciplinary actions, interfaces with Human Resources to coordinate staffing, training and disciplinary action.

· Oversees Daily Machine Assignments according to schedule.
· Performs Performance Reviews/Level Recommendations for Direct Reports.
· Housekeeping/Organization- 5S "A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place."
· Develop Production Efficiency Metrics to monitor and improve company production goals as needed.
· Demonstrated ability to lead cost improvement projects with documented and sustained results.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• A minimum of 7 years' experience supervising a Production team. Must also be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members.

· Strong knowledge in troubleshooting injection molds and injection molding processes.
· Process capability, troubleshooting, SPC and robotics.
· Ability to lead a cross-function/departmental internal team.
· Excellent external/internal customer service and presentation skills to all levels of customer organizations.
· Strong multiple project management skills.
· Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by high growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-7 years' experience in processing engineering grade materials (resins, polyesters, nylons).

· Knowledge of Fanuc, Engel, Whitmann, & Yushin Robots.
· Proficient w/ Visions systems.
· Process control and SPC.
· RJG Pressure Transducer experience.
· RJG Level I & II certification preferred.
· Scientific injection molding (SIM) skills for machine set-ups/adjustment verification.
· Leadership, motivation and coaching skills to develop self-directed teams.
· Computer and blueprint reading skills a plus.
· Minimum Associate's degree in Engineering or technical field or equivalent experience required.
