Production Scheduler Manager manages the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Collaborates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Manager monitors production progress and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules. Additionally, Production Scheduler Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Scheduler Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This position manages Foothill Ranch’s production of automation and manual coiling, automation spring fabrication products production. Assures that products are produced efficiently within the quality, quantity, and cost of a production item.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assures on-time delivery to the satisfaction of the customer.
    • Manages production processes including ERP and manual planning
    • Develops and maintains production schedules/production plans
    • Phases in processes, new equipment, and resources
    • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules to meet OTD
    • Monitors department efficiency and quality
    • Works with PC to control WO variances for labor and material
    • Works with other departments Inventory, Purchasing, Engineering, Sales
    • Manages leads and operators
    • Responsible for disciplinary matters
    • Supervising and motivating a team of workers
    • Provide cross-functional support across manufacturing departments as needed.
    • nonstandard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in scope and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the Company.

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements: 

    • Minimum 5 years experience in all aspects of operations/quality management
    • Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience
    • Strong knowledge of computer-based resource management systems (ERP/MRP)
    • Must have excellent analysis skills using PC-based applications, particularly spreadsheet
    • Ability to solve complex problems
    • Scheduling and Planning orders
    • Process training in lean manufacturing or equivalent continuous improvement processes
    • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

    Education Level Required:

     

    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, science, business administration, engineering, or related field.
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.

     

    Special Skills & Knowledge Necessary to Successfully Perform this Position:

     

    • Knowledge/CNC Machining Equipment and Process a plus
    • Knowledge/Quality Control and Assurance
    • Report writing and understanding of production reports
    • Complex problem solving
    • Able to read and write English
    • Able to read blueprint and work orders/BOM & Routers
    • Experience with MRP Business Systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.)
    • Full command of MS Word and Excel programs
    • Able to show a good mechanical ability.

    Physical Demands:

     

    • Employee is occasionally required to stand.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk.
    • This position is occasionally sedentary and, therefore, requires to sit.
    • Employee regularly required to talk to others and to hear their responses.
    • Occasionally will need to bend, stoop, and squat.
    • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. 
    • Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and products.
    • Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse and be able to sit for long periods at his/her desk as well as occasionally visit employees throughout the building to gather data and clarify information.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job are those necessary for clearly reading printed material and information printed on a computer screen.
    • Position requires the ability to think and respond at the level necessary to execute the position's essential functions.
