QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or work related equivalent experience
- Proficiency with MS Office, experience with Sage desirable
- Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a high speed food/pharma/nutraceutical manufacturing environment, and in production control/scheduling preferred
- Requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Flexible scheduling ability and sense of urgency to meet schedules
- Ability to prioritize and work with and departments professionally and effectively
- Requires a well-developed ability to read, write, and speak English in relation to topics of a complex or technical nature
- Experience with FD/cGMP compliance is preferred

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules for blending, encapsulation and packaging. Maintain and improve scheduling, reporting and process. This is a manufacture-to-order environment: excellent skill is required in analyzing existing and projected orders, machine capacities, supplier capabilities, material nuances and project specific requirements to produce achievable and acceptable schedules for optimal manufacturing quality & efficiency. This position acts as a close advisor, especially to the Production Manager
- Maintain schedules: Attend scheduled production meetings to accumulate status information for orders in process. Retrieve status information from various other sources – MRP system queries (develop and improve), e-mail to coworkers, etc. Adjust and communicate schedules to reflect status. Accurately portray the impact of late activities, without disrupting the schedule.
- Assist Operations Management in analyzing and responding to schedule impacts caused by various unpredictable events (i.e. machine outages, supplier delays, changes).
- Run and communicate schedule which convey schedule information. Refine reports/develop as needed
- Commit and print batch tickets
- Assist in the troubleshooting of production problems; identifying finished good that perform on the machines with difficulty or with defects. Evaluate opportunities for ingredient characteristic change.
- Coordinate production planning with Director of Operations, paying attention to labor demands for the variability i the finished goods produced, along with meeting requirements of a cGMP production environment.
- Work with other departments (Cost Analyst, Quality, Purchasing, Project Management, etc.) to determine their information needs with respect to the production schedule.
- Develop reports to meet needs and train coworkers to use them.
- Continuously improve the scheduling, reporting and updating processes.
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide efforts to improve which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.

- Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including, but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.
