Production Manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Follows overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals. Being a Production Manager monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements. Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed. Additionally, Production Manager ensures that staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations. Coaches teams in best practices to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager. The Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Provide leadership and direction for production team to ensure conformance to safety and quality standards, meet delivery targets, and achieve financial goals. This role requires a strong background in employee development, team leadership, and process improvement.

    Responsibilities
    • Coach and develop Production Supervisors to achieve key performance measures.
    • Ensure safety and environmental protocols and guidelines are met to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Ensure all Company policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
    • Lead, manage, and develop assigned personnel to maintain a safe, happy, well-organized, and efficient work environment and a pipeline of future leaders.
    • Assist in recruiting, selection, transfer, compensation, promotion, and termination decisions for operations personnel.
    • Facilitate the establishment and implementation of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, and cycle-time reduction.
    • Develop and manage the department's budget, controlling costs while meeting production goals.
    • Support development of standard work and ensure employees are well trained.
    • Perform other assignments as required.
    Qualifications, Education, and Experience
    • 10 years' experience in manufacturing environment and at least 5 years in a supervisory role, bachelor's in Engineering or Operations Management preferred.
