Whittemore is Hiring for; Production Shift Supervisor

Family-Owned Industrial Manufacturing Company of Perlite & Vermiculite in Lawrence, MA seeks an experienced shift supervisor for our production team.

This position takes a “hands on” approach to both personnel and equipment. Supervisor will be operating furnaces, overseeing production worker tasks, coordinating shipping and other necessary tasks. Typical shift size consists of 5-10 production workers.

Candidate should be a leader who can coach and motivate his team to reach production targets and always have Safety, Quality and Service in mind.

• 3rd shift hours are from 11:30pm to 8am, Sunday to Fri, with weekend as needed
• Average work day is a 9hr day

For this Position Whittemore will send you out for a physical and Drug test and on passing this you be given a start date.

Training:

• Training will be done on 1st shift for up to 2 months

Responsibilities:

• Operating Furnaces and Equipment
• Assign tasks and manage production workers
• Coordinate and oversee shipping and receiving
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Supervisor’s responsible interviewing and hiring works for their shifts
• This role is not a desk job this is a floor Production Supervisor position maintaining a present on the Production floor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years supervisor experience
• Previous experience in machinery or other related fields preferred
• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload and lifting up to 50 Lbs.

Pay:

• $66,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year

Bonus:

• Quarterly Bonus based on shift production output. Bonus program will begin when you complete the training and take over running your own shift.
