Production Maintenance Manager manages maintenance and repair services for complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Develops and implements standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Being a Production Maintenance Manager coordinates troubleshooting and solutions for equipment repairs. Makes recommendations for equipment enhancements or improvements. Additionally, Production Maintenance Manager prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Plans and schedules maintenance workers, materials, and activities to complete work orders with minimal downtime, adhering to safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Production Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     You'll invest the majority of your time in three key areas:

    • Responsible for coordinating the facility's product quality systems including food safety programs, quality improvement programs, and product grading systems.
    • Directly supervises employees involved with establishing product quality (grade) levels.
    • The primary link between customer quality expectations and the facilities' manufacturing systems.

    Specifically, you will:

    • Be Responsible for the health & safety management system to achieve established goals and provide a safe, efficient environment for all employees.
    • Manages off-peak projects and process improvements
    • Ensure the production schedule is followed and create proper logs, if any modification is needed
    • Responsible for Process and Quality procedures application (all the fresh pack employees must follow company procedures)
    • Manages Productions employees: motivation, assessment, training
    • Develop production budget and monthly forecast, follow and explain variations budget vs. actual
    • Assure continuous improvement: mass balance, line time study, job task analysis shall be carried out regularly (in cooperation with Production Supervisors and Process Engineer) to identify bottle necks and improvement opportunities
    • Manages off-peak projects and process improvements

    You will bring the following to the business:

    • Must have excellent employee engagement, communication, organizational, problem solving, results driven focus, decisive decision making, and time management skills
    • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office/Google Suite
    • Must possess a demonstrated leadership and process knowledge
    • Must be able to direct a structured team made of Supervisors, Leads and floor operators
    • Willingness to learn new tasks and be dependable
    • Must be able to read and write the English language
    • Must be a team leader and effectively communicate with others
    • OSHA Affected Training in Hearing Conversation, Blood Bourne Pathogens, Confined Space, HAS-Com
    • Company and Facility Training in Facility Work Rules, Facility Security, Food Safety, GMP’s, HACCP
    • Engineering/management background

    Qualifications

    • Five years of progressive experience in Food Safety/Science supervision
    • Five years of experience in the food industry; specializing in fresh vegetable production, frozen vegetable repack, and distribution is desired
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or other related Food Science field
