Production Maintenance Manager manages maintenance and repair services for complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Develops and implements standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Being a Production Maintenance Manager coordinates troubleshooting and solutions for equipment repairs. Makes recommendations for equipment enhancements or improvements. Additionally, Production Maintenance Manager prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Plans and schedules maintenance workers, materials, and activities to complete work orders with minimal downtime, adhering to safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Production Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
    The Production Manager will lead and manage the operations of all production areas to ensure that safety, quality, manufacturing standards, and finances are achieved in accordance with Company expectations. The role will report to the Plant Operations Manager and will plan and establish work schedules, staffing requirements, and production activities that ensure the maximum productivity and efficiency. The ProductionManager facilitates maintenance, quality, and engineering services to meet business objectives. In this role, the manager facilitates and leads projects and continuous improvement to meet KPI initiatives. This position will the status of projects and initiatives, and is accountable for results of the business deliverables that are within the scope of this role.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assists the Plant Operations Leader in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives affecting their assigned area.
    • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to employees and ensures the goals and objectives of the organization are met.
    • Facilitates the Training/Cross-training of employees for flexibility within and across departments.
    • Communicates the status of the area performance, projects and initiatives across the business.
    • Achieves optimum team performance impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development.
    • Reviews production variances, scrap and cycle count reports to assure accuracy and drive improvements.
    • Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
    • Makes recommendations about the manufacturing plant and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
    • Implements manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
    • Oversees performance management for all production employees.
    • Partners closely with other department leaders (Human Resources, Warehouse, Quality, R&D, Finance, Engineering, etc.) to drive effective plant operations.
    • Initiates and coordinates major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
    • Stays current on technology and leading manufacturing practices.
    • Owns the results of their assigned area and drives change and improvements with the team.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned.


    Required Education/Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or business administration or equivalent experience


    Required Knowledge Skills & Experiences:
    • 5-7 years' experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in Coating/adhesive or chemical industry
    • Proven performance in continuous improvement practices and analysis
    • Ability to work effectively with others in a manufacturing environment
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient computer skills


    Preferred Knowledge Skills & Experiences:
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean training
    • SAP
