Production Engineering Manager manages the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing programs. Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources. Being a Production Engineering Manager develops and recommends revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time. Additionally, Production Engineering Manager acts as advisor to production engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Production Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. We started working with Formula 1 teams in the late 70’s and 80’s and now manufacture high-end CNC deburring machines. These machines are multi-axis coordinated motion machines that help produce commercial aircraft, military aircraft and vehicles, wind energy systems, agricultural equipment, commercial automotive, OHV, and so on. Our equipment touches virtually every aspect of the modern world.

    We are seeking a diligent, experienced OM to oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing company. In this role, you will manage all floor manufacturing personnel, oversee the management and QA of equipment, and ensure the efficiency of operations. You will also be required to manage inventory, enforce safety regulations, and maintain deadlines. Work with other managers to maintain company flow.

    To ensure success as Operations Manager, you should be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch OM should be able to anticipate and address hindrances to operational efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists the Scheduler with administrative tasks like production schedules and timesheets.
    • Appoints labor and keeps up with raw materials to keep the production process running smoothly.
    • Oversees quality control throughout the entire production process.
    • Monitoring the quality and timeline of manufactured equipment.
    • Ensures that production is completed before deadlines.
    • Updating the other managers and executives on the status of projects. Listing and coordinating production with other departments.
    • Discover creative and efficient ways to lower cost, lower waste, and increase profitability
    • Creating and managing the staff, maintenance, and work schedules.
    • Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
    • Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.
    • Communicate with clients on system ETA.
    • Conducting performance reviews with staff.
    • Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
    • Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
    • Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
    • Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
    • Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules.

    Requirements:

    • High school or equivalent preferred.
    • Manufacturing management experience, 3 yr preferred.
    • Lean manufacturing experience.
    • Ability to supervise production teams confidently and proactively.
    • Exceptional analytical ability toward solving production-related concerns.
    • Proficiency in quality control, managing budgets, and production costing.
    • Ability to motivate a team and hold people accountable for meeting production schedule.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills toward managing human resources and working with other departments
    • Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when necessary
    • Able to oversee numerous personnel and multiple departments.
    • Computer proficiency- Ability to use Excel in particular
    • A great understanding of work optimization techniques.
    • Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures.
    • Strong leadership abilities without being a jerk
    • Good time management and problem-solving skills.
    • A willingness to work long hours and overtime, if needed.
