Audubon is currently seeking a Poly/Finishing Production Engineer to be part of a project team working onsite at a client's Chloroplene plant in Laplace, LA. The Poly/Finishing Production Engineer will provide in-depth engineering, analytical, tactical, and strategic expertise to their area of assignment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
- Following DPE established operations and safety policies and procedures.
- Critical member of the operation 24 Hr. Support Organization – providing support to daily operations and serving as one of the main contacts between the 24-hr. organization and the support groups (MT, SH&E, Projects, Maintenance, E&C).
- Obtaining in-depth knowledge of the process running conditions and of field equipment so that they can effectively assist the operations and maintenance organizations, especially in troubleshooting of issues.
- Field presence: The Production Engineer needs to have frequent field presence, knowing the jobs for the day and interacting with operations and maintenance resources on these. Providing guidance and support to operators with troubleshooting.
- This role will, at times, require work during weekends and nights, specifically when plant problems, operating personnel or schedules benefit from immediate technical help.
- Creating COD’s, General Deviations, Replacement in Kind, TA’s etc. to support daily plant operation.
- Reviewing and providing input to SOP’s and SOC’s
- Keeping up to date on CAR’s, CBT and all required tasks.
- Supporting and leading small to medium scope incident investigations. Driving to root cause and generate essential recommendations strongly tied to the causes of the incident.
- Networking with Safety & Environmental professionals to ensure operation within permitted guidelines.
- Networking with other Manufacturing Technology Engineer (MT) when additional assistance is needed in resolving operational issues.
- Networking with Design Engineers on improvements to process operability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Preparation and presentation of technical reports (Yield loss, Uptime reports, etc.).
- Initiate cost reduction ideas and projects.
- Contributing to the safe operation of the plant. Lead and participate in 3S Audits as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:
- BS in Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited program
- 1 year of experience in Chemical Plant environment and 3 years’ of overall experience as an
- Proactive and able to work
- Ability to collaborate with others in decision
- Proven success in leading projects and
- Strong communications skills, both written &
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience working in a multinational environment is
- SAP experience is preferable but not
- Ability to work well with all functions in the plant to accomplish the objectives of the assignment.
