STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer – Product Support plays a crucial role in developing solutions for production challenges within cost and specification parameters while ensuring aircraft configuration adherence. This contingent position requires the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance manufacturing processes. The incumbent will support detail parts manufacturing and assembly operations, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support for detail parts manufacturing and assembly operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Develop documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory production requirements.
• Act as a liaison between design engineering, tooling department, machine shop, quality, and production, interpreting engineering drawings to ensure objectives are met.
• Analyze statistical data, including process capability studies and throughput rates, to provide technical support for process improvement.
• Plan and document installation processes, tooling, equipment, and quality control methods to optimize manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and update production planning, assist with Bill of Materials (BOM) identification and control, and submit Tooling Requests and Tooling discrepancy reports.

Education, Work Experience, Certification, and/or Licensure:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related field strongly preferred.
• Six Sigma training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aerospace industry experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in SAP, CAD/CAM, CATIA, and Microsoft Office suites required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to manage nonconformance disposition dwell time effectively.
• Resource utilization skills to optimize production processes.
• Experience in reducing assembly hours and implementing efficiency improvements.
• Proficiency in creating and revising planning and routings for aircraft or components.
• Evaluation and implementation of process improvements and cost reduction strategies.
• Ensure engineering configuration accuracy through MBOM transactions.
• Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting goals/targets.
• Demonstrates purpose-driven behavior, promoting ethical conduct and company success.
• Ability to foster teamwork, develop relationships, and embrace diverse perspectives.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of working in environments with equipment noise, heat, cold, dust, and odors.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, squatting, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Normal auditory, visual, and speech abilities required.
• Capacity to lift, carry, or move items up to 15 lbs. throughout the work shift.
• Ability to handle materials/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more with the use of movement assist technology.
