Production Control Director manages the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Client Experience, you will be responsible for generating and achieving new business goals while establishing positive, lasting, and profitable client relationships in commercial markets.

    Essential Responsibilities


    • Develop a consistent flow of new commercial business, generate new business leads, and grow the company's commercial sales portfolio.
    • Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales goals and sales activity metrics.
    • Complete regularly scheduled phone blocks and cold call prospecting activities to establish initial and follow-up appointments with decision-makers.
    • Track sales leads and provide status report updates to the Vice President of Sales & Client Experience.
    • Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations to prospective new clients. Attend and facilitate presentations, including presenting innovative solutions and selling enhanced or new services to prospects and clients.
    • Attend industry events to network and cultivate potential clients. Identify opportunities at these events that translate into quantifiable revenue for the Company.
    • Keep abreast of best practices for sales and marketing, industry trends, and the competitor landscape
    • Schedule regular visits with new clients. Maximize opportunities to solidify client relationships. Check-in with clients via telephone and email on a consistent basis for continued engagement opportunities.
    • Support internal team members with onboarding and assimilation of new accounts; advise on the development of a project plan and project kick-off meetings; and cultivate overall relationships with new accounts for maximum engagement.

    Qualifications & Skills


    • Minimum of 5 years of commercial sales experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (business, marketing, communications); minimum 4-7 years prior client-based experience in direct mail or marketing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Superior customer/client service skills focusing on tact, diplomacy, and rapport building. Must be responsive, intuitive, and empathetic when communicating with emotional topics and personalities and have the ability to discuss specific programs with clients and understand the importance and purpose of each mailing and how they are all interconnected
    • Working knowledge of direct mail concepts and production terminology.
    • Working knowledge of USPS regulations for direct mail products and services.
    • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM tool and Adobe Acrobat
    • Strong people skills with the ability to work in a team environment and foster positive and collaborative work habits. Work with multiple personalities under high-pressure mailings and deadlines without adding undue stress. Maintain fairness and respectfulness to other’s capacity, be willing to support other teammates (even across teams), and seek opportunities to support teams and create value and efficiency.
    • Strong computer skills, including Windows-based applications (MS Office Suite) and supplemental machinery, including printers, scanners, fax machines, and copiers.
    • Strong people skills with the ability to work in a team environment and foster positive and collaborative work habits. Work with multiple personalities under high-pressure mailings and deadlines without adding undue stress. Maintain fairness and respectfulness to other’s capacity, be willing to support other teammates (even across teams), and seek opportunities to support teams and create value and efficiency.
    • Superior customer/client service skills focusing on tact, diplomacy, and rapport building. Must be responsive, intuitive, and empathetic.
    • Excellent presentation skills for internal and external appearances during meetings, expositions, conferences, etc.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences – either staff or client.
    • Ability to conduct client, supplier, and company relationships with a high degree of integrity and professionalism in a supportive, respectful manner.
    • Self-starter with experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
    • Travel expected to meet with new business prospects and grow the pipeline
