McKinzie Pest Control is a 60 year old family owned business. We provide residential, commercial and industrial pest and termite control services to Kansas customers in 16 counties. We have offices in Manhattan and Emporia.

Responsibilities will include performing general pest and termite control services to regular route customers, occasional one-time customers, filling in for vacationing technicians, maintaining equipment, general housekeeping duties and sales. All training is provided. Must be able to deal politely and effectively with the public on a daily basis and work without direct supervision. Must be able to read and follow label directions regarding mixing and applying pesticides.

Minimum requirements are:

1. Must be over 21 years of age
2. Must have valid KANSAS drivers license with good driving record
3. Must be drug free/pass pre-employment drug screen
4. Must pass criminal background check
5. Must have high school or equivalent education
6. Must be able to meet company sponsored training timetable, resulting in successfully passing state certification exams
7. Must be willing and able to work overtime if necessary
8. Must have honesty, integrity and be dependable
9. Must be able to work without direct supervision
10. Must be able to work well with the general public
11. Must be in good physical condition in order to perform required duties*

*Requires occasional lifting up to 70lbs., frequent carrying and use of 10-12lb. hand sprayer, occasional use of 40lb. backpack sprayer, entering and inspecting crawlspaces, attics and other close quarter environments, working off ladders and/or aerial lifts, working in adverse weather conditions
(heat and cold), frequent bending, stooping and walking.

Preferred qualities and experience:

1. Face to face customer service experience
2. Prior experience with pesticide application
3. Any biology or entomology training
4. Sales experience
5. Mechanically inclined
6. Neat professional appearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
