Production Control Director manages the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Production Control Planner - I to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and execute production schedules for assigned product lines to achieve maximum customer satisfaction levels and “on-time” shipments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Your Priorities
- Develops and maintains master schedules and order releases required to support customer requirements for assigned product lines.
- Reviews machine capacity, maintenance requirements, and schedules to determine if production plans for assigned product lines are achievable.
- Monitors status of purchase parts and communicates any changes to purchasing department.
- Works with Purchasing to secure purchase parts needed to meet production schedules.
- Provides shipping dates for short lead orders based on material availability and production capacity.
- Determines and maintains required Kanban card levels within the production system to meet production schedules and inventory targets.
Requirements
Your Background
High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 to 4 years of progressive manufacturing experience.
Associate's Degree in Business or a related discipline, Experience with computerized material requirements planning, and Access and Crystal Reports skills are preferred.
