Production Control Director manages the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description

    Norco is currently seeking a Director of Gas Production. The Director of Gas Production is responsible for gas production management, asset management, cylinder maintenance, production equipment and preventative maintenance. Problem solving includes technical expertise across medical, industrial, and specialty gases, including their distribution. Role involves comprehensive operational direction, complex root-cause analysis, and regulatory compliance. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for all processes and procedures related to gas operations.
    • Direct all fill plant activities, including but not limited to filling operations, filling equipment, cylinder and location maintenance, cylinder distribution and safety
    • Assist leadership in identifying operational efficiencies in gas operations and implementing change initiatives to improve productivity and control costs
    • Responsible for optimizing cylinder asset utilization and management at fill plant locations
    • Drive safety improvement at all gas filling operations
    • Ensure regulatory compliance, excellent maintenance procedures and a safe and efficient operation at all cylinder filling locations
    • Assist in the evaluation, selection and approval of subcontractors and suppliers of key mechanical components of gas production facilities
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop, plan, and implement strategic initiatives to support the overall operational excellence and financial success of the company.
    • Assist Sales team, Branches locations, and other departments in resolving technical or procedural issues associated with gas production
    • Direct all training surrounding applicable FDA, OSHA, DOT, and/or other regulations
    • Assist with budget creation for departmental and operational expenditures
    • Perform other tasks as assigned or needed

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate or equivalent, 4-year college degree with a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • Three years minimum progressive experience in management
    • Five years’ minimum experience in industrial and medical gas filling and distribution
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to effectively supervise and manage personnel
    • Excellent math skills including a basic understanding of statistics and the ability to set up and perform basic algebra.
    • Familiar with TIMS and Advanced Cylinder Management
    • Working knowledge of cylinder and gases
    • Familiar with FDA, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable state, local and federal regulations that apply to Norco
