We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Assistant Production Supervisor to join our team. As an Assistant Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for learning and overseeing the manufacturing process and ensuring that production targets are met. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively manage a team that will grow into a full Production Supervisor position as part of succession planning.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of multilingual production workers on the shop floor
- Cross train to become proficient in all production activities performed on the floor
- Train new employees on proper manufacturing techniques and equipment operation
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes and improve efficiency
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow as needed to ensure that overall safety, quality and productivity goals are met
- Manage multiple priorities across tight timelines by maneuvering the workforce to meet demands
- Resolve any production-related issues or conflicts that may arise
Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment required
- Previous experience with molding / casting a plus
- Must be self-directed, have strong attention to detail, great communication skills and possess the capability to analyze information to improve processes and outcomes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Flexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment
