Role and Responsibilities

• Research to the customer design proposals, specification, and competitor products to determine product designs
• Write design validation plans and testing procedures
• Help create project schedule and drive timelines
• Create conceptual and prototype designs, images, and prototypes
• Detail component and assembly designs/models and create engineering prints
• Work with Manufacturing Engineer and Suppliers to assure most efficient methods of manufacture and assembly are developed to meet appropriate specifications
• Track and communicate design changes
• Assist engineering personnel in specifying equipment, and develop methods and procedures for testing mechanical products
• Root cause analysis
• Assist in writing technical documents including, but not limited to, test reports, product specifiations, and manuals.
• Provide instruction and technical support production
• Assist in establishing and/or upgrading internal engineering standards and practices
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and personnel policies including core values
• Enter new bom's into the system based off new design
• Make changes on bom's per the echo's that are submitted
• Do bom audit on existing product
• All other responsibilities assigned by Director of Engineering

Education and Experience Requirements

• Degree relevant to Engineering or 8 years of relevant manufacturing work experience required
• 3 years in design and manufacturing experience
• Experience in AutoCad
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and Excel
• Knowledge in aluminum extrusion profiles
• Knowledge in tempered and insulated glass
• 3D CAD software experience required, Solid Edge experience preferred
• Experience on product assemblies, preferred
• Experience with project management software, preferred
