Product Development Manager manages the staff, resources, and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Incorporates research and concept development projects and capabilities with market analysis, industry intelligence, and customer monitoring to support product roadmaps and innovate new products, enhancements, and redesigns. Being a Product Development Manager coordinates with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization's financial goals. Develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Additionally, Product Development Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Product Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Product Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsible for planning and directing the resources necessary to develop, support, and deliver Line of Business Solutions on the ServiceNow Platform and Web Development (ASP) framework by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Overall management of the ServiceNow Instance, .Net / ASP, and SharePoint environments.
    • Supervision of Programmer/Analysts, Senior Programmer/Analysts, and Technical Analysts within the ServiceNow Platform Team.
    • Maintains effective communication within the team.
    • Maintains effective communication between the team and the users of information systems.
    • Maintains effective communication with team members concerning performance against goals.
    • Ensures adequate staffing and training to support Production and Business Continuity of assigned software systems and applications.
    • Plans, schedules, assigns, monitors and directs activities of team members on technical and operational projects and during regular departmental activities.
    • Reviews assignments of team members to ensure a balanced workload across the team and priorities are being met.
    • Reviews the work of team members, ensuring standards are being met.
    • Provides leadership including, but not limited to, setting a good example for team members to follow regarding work ethic, being a positive influence and helping with complex issues.
    • Develops team members by providing consistent direction, technical and leadership training where appropriate, recognizing achievement, and maximizing the talents and abilities of team members.
    • Project or effort management:
      • Consults with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes and determine extent of programming and coding required.
      • Researches requirements for, determines staffing availability, determines user priority needs, and assigns projects accordingly.
      • Reviews the progress of projects and the work done by team members to ensure that schedules and objectives are met.
      • Assigns, coordinates, and reviews work of personnel.
      • Ensures that projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
      • Reviews projects to ensure that quality is being emphasized.
      • Utilizes and guides the team in the use of Agile planning and effort management.
    • Secondary Duties:
      • Works to expand knowledge of banking and the business function being serviced.
      • Trains subordinates in programming, program coding, and database administration.
      • Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
    • Specialties:
      • ServiceNow Platform Management and Scoped Application Development
        • Know of ServiceNow Platform, including ITSM, FSO, Integration Hub, Automation HUB, Business Rules, Flow Design / Workflow, and Spoke development.
        • Facilitation, design and development of specialized business applications utilizing the NOW Platforms capabilities.
        • Creation of STP execution with the utilization of integrations (Service Based & RPA Based).
        • Additional module experience preferred include IRM, ITOM, HAM, SAM, and HRSD with Employee Service Center.
      • Application Architect / Web Specialist
        • Responsibilities:
          • Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
          • Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing deployment plans and procedures
          • Insure adherence to functional and non-functional specifications to be used by technical architects in new systems development of new systems
          • Manage the portfolio of web delivery projects
          • Collaborate with internal technical teams on client requirements
          • Insure solutions fully leverage existing platform functionality

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Directly supervises 5 - 10 employees in the Data Services department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

    • Bachelor degree and at least ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with a developed expertise in a particular area or function of programming
    • Prefer a BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar degree
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Design software; Development software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
    • Strong knowledge of banking business applications is preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook email program, their processes and their interdependencies
    • Advanced abilities of problem solving and analyzing
    • Advanced abilities to use spreadsheet software, word processing software, email systems and network systems
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities on sizable projects
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • No certification, licenses, or registrations are required to successfully perform this job

    ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
    • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
    • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
    • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
    • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
