Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Product Development Manager – Adjacencies & Innovation is primarily responsible for working with the Offices of Strategy, Growth, and the CEO to create product road mapping, develop new products and offerings for our blue-chip customers, and ultimately own the full product development lifecycle from concept to evaluation of the product’s success in the market. The experienced individual in this role will be an energetic, collaborative thought leader who is motivated to create new business plans, educate the sales team on new offerings, collaborate with marketing, strategic pricing, and other departments to bring the product to market, all with the success of our customers in mind. This will require partnering closely with the COO and other operating leaders to ensure that the services being developed are ready for execution in the field. This role will be responsible for a large portion of Stratus’ top line revenue goals and a successful candidate is expected to have high intrinsic values that allow the candidate to utilize their commercial savvy and business acumen to push Stratus forward by surprising and delighting our customers.
