Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • FiftyForward has an excellent opportunity for a Development Director. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with the ability to work flexible hours depending on needs and events.
    In this role, you will oversee and implement the agency’s annual fundraising efforts, including events and campaigns across the agency’s many centers and programs, and develop an overall strategy to ensure the agency will meet or exceed the annual budgeted fundraising goals each year.
    What you’ll do:
    • Provide leadership to ensure the organization has an annual and long-range development plan to accomplish the strategic goals and objectives.
    • Experience managing a team; ability to set goals and expectations, motivate team members, and provide guidance and support as needed.
    • Solicitation of major gifts and appropriate follow-up each month.
    • Maintain the agency’s donor relationships and recognition program.
    • Develop and manage agency’s year-end written campaign.
    • Responsible for direct contact with donors including ongoing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship visits and activities.
    • Oversee donor database, ensure thankyou notes are delivered in timely manner, create annual donor impact reports.
    • Supervise and oversee the corporate, foundation grants and the special event departments and staff.
    • Participate in annual budgeting process and oversees program revenues and expenses in accordance with agency approved budget. Ensure revenue and expense budgets are developed for all events and campaigns.
    • Work with CEO to manage agency capital, endowment, and planned giving campaigns.
    • Oversee agency volunteer department; ensure volunteers are integrated across agency and utilized, trained appropriately.
    • Work with communications staff to promote development projects through written correspondence, promotional materials, and public speaking.
    • Ensure project timetables, progress reports, campaign materials and campaign reports are prepared and delivered on time to the board and funders.
    • Provide consultation to FiftyForward staff and volunteers regarding development activities in FiftyForward centers and programs and ensures that all activities are part of a well-coordinated agency-wide development plan.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Skills
    • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with donors throughout the local community.
    • Must be a career development professional with a track record of successful development experience.
    • Ability to make calls to potential underwriters and donors.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs including Outlook (calendar), Word, Excel, and Publisher.
    • Ability to shift priorities quickly and unexpectedly.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with internal and external customers.
    • Demonstrated skills in organization, customer service, and time and task management.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
    • Must have a deep commitment to our mission and values.
    • A valid TN driver’s license including a good motor vehicle record, and appropriate automobile insurance.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred, coursework and specialized training in all aspects of development.
    • CFRE credentials preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years in development with leadership experience preferred with nonprofit organizations.
    • Proven track record in raising significant funds through major gifts, special events, annual campaigns.
    • Must have some experience with capital, endowment, and planned giving campaigns.
