JOB TITLE: Economic Development Director.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director.
WORK HOURS: M-F, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
SALARY RANGE: $22-25/hour (37.5 hour work week).
Location: FIVCO ADD Office, with travel throughout the five-county region.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Supervises all aspects of the Community Services/Economic Development Department staff.
- Assumes primary responsibility for the Revolving Loan Fund program.
- Works with city and county governments within the FIVCO ADD region to further economic development efforts by:
- Researching and writing grants and assisting with loan applications.
- Administering projects (CDBG, ARC, EDA, FEMA, etc.)
- Attending and presenting information at city council and fiscal court meetings, committee meetings, etc.
- Attending seminars, conferences, and workshops to remain current on community development.
- Developing or assisting in developing economic development studies, the Hazard Mitigation Plan, the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS}, GPRA, and others as required.
- Reviewing applications filed through the Kentucky State Clearinghouse and assists with dissemination and responses as needed.
- Becoming CDBG certified.
- Coordinating or assisting with the Economic Development Committee.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Planning preferred.
- Degrees in a closely related field will also be considered.
- Strong background in finance, contracting, grant administration, and personnel/supervision is preferred.

- Dependable. Reports to work on time, seldom absent completes work in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Work effectively and relate well to others. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Ability to prioritize work and organize tasks.
- Initiate, organize, and manage grant applications and administer projects.
- Ability to work with little supervision and work well under time constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will sit at a desk, work at a computer reading, researching, and preparing documents.
- Will travel for meetings, trainings, and other ADD-related business as assigned.
- Evening meetings and overnight travel may be required.
