SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary role of the design center manager is to oversee the day to day operations of the design center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage all aspects of design center operations, including product and option development, assist purchasing dept. with negotiation and pricing on model homes, contract documentation and administration of all exhibit’s needed for field, and integration of product specifics into existing operating system. You will work closely with Operations team, purchasing team, construction staff, and Sales Manager to efficiently lead the administration of the color selection and option process, while building customer relations.
• Meet with buyers to conduct design appointments.
• Attends weekly status meetings as required by management.
• Assist the sales team in understanding any design center applications or products necessary to their scope of work.
• Addresses field related issues if design center related.
• Maintain a relationship with our manufacturers/trade partners to stay current on product knowledge; builder shows and design publications.
• Coordinate vignette remodels or discontinued products and communicate this information to the team.
• Work collaboratively with management team on new business modeling and execution
• Maintain spec design packages and create new as needed.
• Maintain PDF design master books and update as needed for each specific spec level.
• Responsible for any customer re-selections needed through the build cycle.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
• 3-5 years design center experience preferred
• Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
• Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
