Product/Brand Management Director manages, develops, and oversees the implementation of marketing activities to maximize sales of a brand. Analyzes brand performance, brand competitiveness, and product trends in the marketplace and develops marketing strategies for a brand. Being a Product/Brand Management Director reviews marketing metrics to determine the effectiveness and value of marketing strategies or campaigns. Leads the development, curation, and deployment of marketing content and identifies effective sales channels. Additionally, Product/Brand Management Director translates marketing initiatives into specific projects and actionable plans. Works with management and team leaders to identify and implement appropriate sales strategies or improve direction for current campaigns. Ensures product and brand initiatives are consistent and support the organization's public image. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Product/Brand Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Product/Brand Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The specialty of orthodontics is the oldest and largest dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association.

    position summary:

    The Director of IT is responsible for implementing AAO’s technology strategy that enables and supports the work of the association. The Director accomplishes this by employing industry good-practices, leading technology projects, and identifying and allocating resources to manage, implement, produce and/or maintain project deliverables. The Director oversees all IT functions of the organization and ensures efficient operation of on-premise and hosted/cloud business systems, and technology infrastructure components and end-points.

    essential functions:

    • Strategy execution:
      • Using AAO’s technology strategy as a guide, the Director will ensure that IT solutions and operations advance the technology strategy and mission of AAO.
      • Whether providing project management services themselves or delegating project management duties to others, the director provides oversight of technology project definition, initiation, execution, and closure.
      • In all cases, the Director will strive to implement sustainable solutions that follow good practices in the IT field. This is vital to ensure the AAO’s technology systems are supportable.
    • Operations and support:
      • The director is responsible for the establishment of IT and data management policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure the proper and effective utilization of technology solutions and company data assets.
      • Additionally, the Director will monitor compliance with policies and guidelines, and coordinate with AAO leadership to ensure compliance.
      • The Director will ensure that all enterprise systems will have an effective support mechanism in place. This could include support for important systems such as AAO’s Association Management System, AAO’s websites and digital properties, and so on.

    • Needs assessment, solution development and prioritization:
      • The Director is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and documenting technology business needs from AAO leadership and staff.
      • The Director will assess potential options and solutions to meet business needs, and relying on industry good-practices, make solution recommendations accordingly.
      • The Director will organize recommendations and facilitate the prioritization and scheduling of potential technology projects in coordination with AAO leadership.
      • The Director will ensure that system implementations and integrations are consistently documented and SOPs updated as needed.
    • Resource management:
      • The Director will identify vendors who can fill gaps in AAO’s internal skillsets and experience in order to tap into capabilities and experience in order to deliver effective solutions and advice using industry good-practices.
      • As AAO relies on trusted IT partners, vendors and contractors, effective vendor management is an important success factor for this role.
    • Management and leadership:
      • Provide leadership, direction, and management of staff, including fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment through supervising staff, providing feedback, coaching, support, mentoring, performance management, and training and development opportunities as appropriate.
      • The Director will function as a budget manager, building and adjusting technology-related budgets, monitoring expenditures to ensure costs remain with expectations.

    Qualifications


    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, or similar technology discipline, and/or the equivalent years of business experience in the IT field.
    • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in an IT (or similar) position.
    • 5 years of experience effectively managing technology projects.
    • 5 years of experience managing, coaching, and maintaining a strong team of technology professionals.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • A solid understanding of the Microsoft Office 365 platform, its capabilities, operations, and administration.
    • A solid understanding of good practices associated with website and web application hosting and support.
    • Experience and skill at managing single-sign-on (SSO) and data integrations between systems.
    • A proven ability to coordinate closely with multiple vendors to identify problems and solutions and ensure resolution and delivery.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
    • Self-motivated and directed.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize projects/tasks/resources.
