    Description:

    BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE
    Under general supervision, this position analyzes sales and consumer data in support of defined sales and account initiatives. Provides analytical support on the category advisor team leveraging fact-based insights. Significant portion of the role will be dedicated to the creation and maintenance of Sam’s planogram project. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure optimum utilization of fact-based information, aligned with category management best practices in order to maximize category sales for the retailer.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Data extraction, cleaning and analysis from a wide variety of available systems and synthesize that data into actionable recommendations.
    • Provide category insights and analytics through use of Retail Link, IRI syndicated data, Spectra, & MADRID etc.
    • Identify and communicate the insights and opportunities to the category team
    • Ability to leverage insights and partner with advisor in developing category strategies for growth.
    • Develop and maintain customer reporting weekly/monthly or as requested.
    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with buying staff as trusted advisor.

    Position Requirements
    :

    BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

    A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

    • Preferred experience in Customer Management or Category Management.
    • Experience using of PC-based applications (MS Windows and MS Office) with emphasis in ADVANCED Excel proficiency is required.
    • Proficient in operating Retail Link
    • Previous experience in Power BI preferred
    • Must have worked on Sam’s POD removal project and have fluency in JDA application from creation to end of submission.
    • Demonstrated ability in analyzing data, formulating recommendations, developing presentations and presenting action plans to customers to achieve desired business results.
    • Demonstrated strengths in analysis and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with enthusiasm and impact.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, team orientated environment.
    • Must have a sense of urgency and work on tight timelines
    • Strong research skills interpretation - experience in making sense of a wide range of complex data sets and creating actionable findings.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills; both written and verbal.
    • Strong report writing, presentation and delivery, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and take charge of projects
