    SUPERVISES:  N/A

    COMPENSATION: $800-$1100/week

    LOCATION:  Position may work remotely, depending on start date. Position requires relocating to Williamstown, MA from June - August, during which housing is provided.

    HIRING TIMELINE: Applications to be accepted until the position is filled with priority application deadline of March 15, 2024. Application review and interviews to be conducted in March with an anticipated start date in May 2024.

    JOB SUMMARY: 

    The Williamstown Theatre Festival, renowned for its commitment to artistic excellence, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Line Producer for the 2024 Season. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual to be integral to the producing of a full season’s breadth of programming. The Line Producer is responsible for collaborating with all departments at the Festival to help produce the full 2024 summer season, including full productions, presented works, the Cabaret Series, Fridays@3 readings, workshops, and residencies. The Line Producer facilitates a process that ensures the artists have the resources they need and projects are implemented on time and within the allotted budget. The position will begin remotely on a part-time basis starting in May.

    The ideal candidate is an individual with excellent project management and collaboration skills, who is energized by strategizing and supporting the needs of a team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

    • Responsible for collaborating with all departments to produce the Festival’s 2024 summer season.
    • Support the Producer in facilitating day-to-day producing operations, including:
      • Making creative team offers 
      • Assisting casting processes
      • Maintaining up-to-date season calendars, creative team information forms, contract tracking sheets, audition calendars, performance and tech schedules, budget tracking, etc.
      • Supporting the production process, including during rehearsals, tech, and performances. 
    • Support Artistic Associate and Special Projects Associate in administrative and logistical support of Fridays@3 readings, workshops, and residencies.
    • Support communication between artists and internal departments such as Marketing & Development, Box Office, and Business Office.
    • Work with the seasonal Company Manager and Company Management team to ensure housing and travel arrangements and needs are met within Festival’s budget and resources available.
    • Work with the Producer on abiding by union guidelines and submitting any necessary reporting.
    • Review and copy edit programs, press releases, and marketing materials on behalf of the producing department.
    • Assist in the training and mentorship of the seasonal Producing Assistant, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
    • Collaborate with the Producer to develop department working schedules and set/oversee Producing Assistant working hours, ensuring adequate coverage during load-ins, technical rehearsals, and performances.
    • Partake in season debrief meetings and create documentation of notes that will better serve the position and producing department next summer.
    • Embrace the Festival’s commitment to EDIA and Anti-Racism by actively participating in and encouraging behaviors among staff members that exemplify respect; interrupting microaggressions and other behaviors that hinder our EDIA and Anti-Racism efforts; engaging in the diversification of the workforce; demonstrating a degree of cultural competency that encourages healthy relationships with all company members
    • Adhere to all Festival safety protocols.
    • Assist in the load-in and load-out of campus spaces, including offices and workspaces, equipment counting, and off-season storage, as needed
    • Complete other duties as assigned.
    • An essential function of this job is in-person work in Williamstown, MA.
    • Customarily and regularly direct the work of two or more other employees, and whose suggestions and recommendations as to the advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • The Williamstown Theatre Festival does not require a specific number of years of experience or have a minimum for educational credentials. 
    • Demonstrated experience in producing theater and/or other live events with demonstrated success in executing the process for a variety of projects with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to artistic excellence. 
    • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation, capable of handling multiple projects and prioritizing appropriately.
    • Experience with budget management and tracking.
    • Clear, effective, and adaptable communication skills to communicate with artists, staff, and a variety of stakeholders.
    • The ability to work closely with a team, manage workload, communicate clearly and effectively about expectations and needs.
    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and collaborate with others effectively to problem-solve or course correct appropriately.
    • Creative, analytical and process-oriented thinker capable of remaining flexible and adapting to changing priorities and timelines in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
    • The ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
