JOB TITLE:   

Student Media Producer

JOB PURPOSE:   

Produce news segments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. Organize and gather stories from reporters in preparation for a broadcast or video product
2. Work with the news director to select and prioritize content
3. Select footage and sound bites to include in the broadcast
4. Work with the production team to maintain industry video standards
5. Make sure broadcast or video is within time limits
6. Produce breaking news reports
7. Coordinate with production and graphics department to develop promotional content for upcoming broadcasts
8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Understanding of the production process 
3. Knowledge of broadcast journalism principles and techniques.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. Some supervisory experience. 
2. Knowledge of video editing techniques, protocols and standards. Knowledge of industry-related software.
