Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     Our Greenhouse facility located in Mona, Utah is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team! The essential function of this role is directly responsible for the achievement of strategic plan goals for overall management and oversight of the greenhouse and packhouse operations. This will include managing the work force to achieve the objectives, including hiring, firing, labor planning, and labor reporting.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Accountable for revenue, operating expenses, quality control and daily operation of the facility. This includes production, planning and reporting, plant performance, labor management, balancing inputs, throughput & demand and facilities maintenance.
    • Establish the overall vision for and set the strategic direction of all Operations.
    • Support safety programs to maintain safe working conditions and deliver safety targets.
    • Ensure operations are compliant with all Food Safety Requirements and successfully protects our customers/consumers.
    • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance.
    • Monitor performance against goals to ensure progress is being made and action plans are implemented.
    • Directs workers and contractors engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance and construction activities
    • Work with Human Resources for hiring, terminations, performance management, etc, to meet staffing needs and meet the needs of active employees.
    • Develop and modify policies, procedures, and systems to meet the goals of the business.
    • Budget preparation and monitoring of P&L.
    • Analyzes and reports daily, monthly, and annual key performance indicators and monitors industry trends.

    Education/Background Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
    • Five years of experience in operations and management required

    Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Experience effectively leading a performance-based organization is an asset.
    • Sound strategic thinking skills.
    • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation skills, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
    • Ability to take leadership role and display personal initiative.
    • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

    Working Conditions:

    • Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs. Work in typical office environment when not in greenhouse.
    • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
