    Overview

    TEC Equipment is looking for a Director of Fixed Operations to oversee our three Portland metro area locations. This role is responsible for all aspects of operations (P&L, Personnel, Strategy) for Parts, Service, & Body Shop departments. The Director Fixed Operations works to align the activities of employees with the TEC Vision, Mission, and Values in the pursuit of operational excellence. This position also collaborates with corporate staff and peers to provide the best customer experience possible while driving enterprise value.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate advanced understanding of sales processes, account management, and strategic growth for multiple, complementary lines of business.
    • Identify and understand all key workflows within each of the three major revenue streams. Evaluate and modify processes driving linkage to department and customer objectives.
    • Use structured problem-solving techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, or 5S to systemically identify and prioritize opportunities
    • Ensure that the profit model for each of the three revenue streams (Parts, Service, Body Shop) is defined, commonly understood by teams, and that actions lead to positive results.
    • Maintain constant focus on defining, measuring, and championing the customer experience.
    • Cultivate a culture that prioritizes development opportunities for employees. Manage organizational strategy including succession planning and cross functional experiences.
    • Perform timely, detailed review of operating results with department managers. Assign action items as appropriate and provide support to accomplish objectives.
    • Analyze and segment market to identify sales opportunities and customer solutions.
    • Leverage appropriate tools for sales and operational planning, objective tracking, workflow documentation, analysis, and collaboration.
    • Build and maintain an understanding of our represented OEM equipment brands, parts vendors, and equipment suppliers. Act as a liaison between TEC and our business partners.
    • Understand and manage the impact of business activities on working capital and cash flow.
    • Fully engage in annual Business Plan process, developing stretch targets and coaching Managers on how to drive results.
    • Ensure that all branding, facilities, and materials represent TEC’s Value Proposition of premium products and services.
    • Ensure that there are adequate controls and mechanisms to mitigate operational risks.
    • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety employees to perform evaluations.

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in and with commercial truck equipment, including Service and Parts operations
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and continued pursuit of professional/personal development
    • Minimum five years of managing direct reports including exempt and non-exempt employees
    • Strong knowledge in business management, operational processes (inventory optimization, distribution, warehousing, transportation/networking, throughput and capacity planning, queue management, etc.), and organizational leadership
    • Analytical skills to evaluate data, gather insights and develop hypotheses, make operational decisions, and present compelling summaries
    • Strong influencing skills and garnering buy-in from multiple, diverse stakeholders
    • Servant leader and team builder. Demonstrated ability to develop high performing individuals and teams.
