Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     POSITION DESCRIPTION  

    The Processing Internship program will provide training to a qualified individual on all aspects of daily production protocols, with the intent of moving that person into a leadership position when openings are available. The intern will be trained in operation of all equipment in plant as well as HACCP, CPR, and sanitation training. The intern will also assist in maintaining and leading operations within the plant.     

    Our production facility is growing rapidly and needs a team member that can plan for future growth via personnel management, and implementation of new equipment and processes. The intern candidate will need to be energetic, innovative, and able to translate this to our current and expanding team members.  

     

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

    • Team and Individual leadership skills   
    • Organization and planning skills    
    • Ability to work independently at times with little direction   
    • Strong and sound decision making skills    
    • Proficiency with: (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)   
    • Excellent verbal/written skills.   
    • Well organized and detail oriented. 
    • Must maintain positive company morale    
    • Participates in company events, as needed. 
    • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.   
    • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is required. 
    • May be required to work at other work sites/locations as needed. 
    • May be required to do other tasks as needed. 

     

    DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

    • HACCP Certification. 
    • PCQI Certification training and certification. 
    • Knowledge of GMPs for food production facilities. 
    • Knowledge in food production line equipment and development.  

     

       

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

    • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground    
    • The employee may berequired to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat   
    • The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus   
    • Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers   
    • Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation   
    • Must be able to drive to multiple locations   
    • Must have the ability to lift as much as 50 lbs.
