Detailed Job Description
Assessment:
-
Supports the assessment agenda of the Assistant Vice President for Research and Assessment.

Establishes and maintains a comprehensive Assessment Plan for the Division of Diversity & Inclusion. Provides regular progress reports, maintains relevant databases, and creates/updates digital archives.

Provides leadership and support for the collection and analysis of data to support assessment initiatives and program evaluation related to the Division for Diversity & Inclusion's strategic priorities and the university strategic plan.

Facilitates unit-level assessment across the Division. Leads efforts to develop and align success indicators and strategic outcomes for all departments within the Division of Diversity & Inclusion.

Facilitates the planning of effective assessment strategies that assist grant funded programs within the Division to identify key performance indicators and strategic outcomes through process development, data gathering, analysis, interpretation, report preparation, and data presentation.

Develops and maintains data integrity procedures, provides assessment education through workshops and presentation, creates and delivers reports reflecting program level assessment and evaluation, and contributes to new and existing research and assessment projects.
Research:

Supports the research agenda of the Assistant Vice President for Research and Assessment.

Contributes to the development of research studies and conducts analyses that demonstrate institutional progress in achieving diversity goals for students, faculty, and staff.

Engages in research and assessment efforts to identify best practices and data-driven student success strategies that focus on helping the university identify and close achievement gaps to improve retention and graduation rates for underrepresented students.

Works collaboratively with administrative leaders, faculty, staff, campus offices and committees focused on understanding and promoting the success of our diverse student, faculty, and staff populations.
Administrative Responsibilities:

At the request of the Assistant Vice President for Research and Assessment, delivers presentations and reports to university level committees, university level councils, at divisional meetings, and others as appropriate.

Coordinates assessment efforts across the Division. Ensures the alignment of initiatives, programs, and grants with the overall mission of the Division, strategic plan of the university, and requirements of external funding agencies.

Provides direction to staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students who may assist with assessment, evaluation, and research processes.

Responsible for hiring, mentoring, supervising, and evaluating performance of direct reports. Identifies and provides opportunities for leadership and professional development of direct reports and others identified under this structure.
Other:

Represents the Division of Diversity & Inclusion on university level committees, councils, task forces, and working groups that address assessment and evaluation related to the strategic priorities of the Division and university.

Collaborates with Institutional Research, the Registrar's Office, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Human Resources, Enrollment Management and appropriate constituents across the institution to access relevant data, conduct detailed analysis, and provide interpretation of results to facilitate and support the above responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
-
A Master's Degree in higher education or a research-oriented field is required. Doctoral Degree preferred.

2-3 years of professional experience in higher education related to the duties of the position.
- Experience in program assessment, data analysis, data interpretation and reporting, and data presentation.

Experienced communicator with ability to interact with institutional leadership regarding data interpretation and presentation.
Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Requires the ability to conduct assessment and research.
-
Experience in a higher education setting.
-
Experience with analysis of educational and/or institutional data.
-
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
