Process Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers to ensure production goals of the organization are met. Provides assistance related to the review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment, processes, and plants. Being a Process Engineering Technician may suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Process Engineering Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Process Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The PLC Technician creates logic code for programmable devices, assembles and installs electrical control panel assemblies as well as device wiring and point-to-point.
Duties

Using electric or air-powered tools to drill, grind, etc. as required to fit parts together to form a finished final assembly.
Position component parts according to material and blueprint lists.
Wire lugs are crimped on the end of the wire and are done with manual crimpers and strippers.
Wire looms need to be neat and wiring must be accurate.
Point-to-point wiring diagrams are used to install all wiring. Routing of wire from one point to the other is a task requiring the ability to plan ahead to avoid rewiring.
Focuses on quality, customer service, safety, productivity.
Able to read blueprints, familiar with electrical codes, and use a multimeter to test control panels.
Must be able to create and edit programming code for programmable logic controllers.
HMI programming and interfacing with multiple controllers.
Interface with customers over the phone and on-site to troubleshoot system problems or to create logic to interface equipment to process.
Capable of reading component documentation to create device programming, VFDs, Temperature Controllers, etc.
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
2-year technical degree in electronics or a related field preferred
1 to 5 years of related experience in electrical wiring in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, or wire diagrams
Experience in wiring electrical products
Experience in industrial panel fabrication and testing
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
