    Job Description

    As a Fiberon Engineering Manager you will have the opportunity to be a change agent and drive the continuous improvement efforts in the production of our industry leading wood-alternative decking and cladding. You will lead data-driven safety, quality, and productivity teams using tools including Lean, PDCA, and Six Sigma.  You will actively take part in root cause analysis, process documentation, and implementation of corrective actions to solve problems.  You will work with and lead dynamic teams to prepare and implement capital improvement projects and drive the development of capable and robust products and processes.     • Supervise and lead engineers and technicians who design machinery, oversee production and the quality of our products.
    • Direct and coordinate process engineering and cross functional teams to meet goal driven KPI’s
    • Oversee the organization with clear and concise procedures.
    • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
    • Write performance reviews and solve internal issues.
    • Discuss and lay out project specifications.
    • Make detailed plans to accomplish goals.
    • Analyze key strategic initiatives and recommend required resources.
    • Review, approve, or modify product designs.
    • Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts.
    • Approve expenditures.
    • Review and recommend contracts.
    • Develop cost estimates.
    • Improve manufacturing processes and product designs.
    • Check technical accuracy of work.
    • Establish administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Coordinate activities of team with other teams or organizations.
    • Confer with higher levels of management.
    • Participate in incident investigations and resolutions
    • Develop process improvements with a “safety first” attitude regarding material handling. 
    • Immediately address any potential safety issues with the appropriate personnel
    • Review and evaluate ergonomic and safety concerns and risks for all activities and projects

    In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: Lead the transformation in the New London, NC operations as well as company-wide with regards to process engineering. You will drive improvements through all facets of the Value Stream from supplier to customer. This position is essential in developing a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.    

    Qualifications

    • 4 year Engineering degree. 
    • Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience.
    • Experience leading teams, developing standards, writing reviews and dealing with conflict. 
    • Experience managing budgets and analyzing cash flow. 
    • Knowledge and application of improvement tools including PDCA, SMED, 6 Sigma. 
    • Passion and drive to continuously improve plant operations. 
    • Proven interpersonal & communication skills at all organizational levels
    • Proven & effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
    • Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomes.
