Provides assistance related to the review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment, processes, and plants. Being a Process Engineering Technician may suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Process Engineering Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Process Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Typical duties consist of working with engineers and designers to create, update, and revise drawings on complex projects in the fields of power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy, and more. Additional responsibilities may include construction observation, 3D scanning, and processing. The work may involve out-of-town assignments. Minimum Qualifications: Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above 0–5 years of experience with design/CAD experience related to industrial facilities Strong technical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiative A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the consulting industry Proficiency with MicroStation, Cadworx, or 3D piping software Familiarity with additional drafting packages such as AutoCAD and Navisworks Familiarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of various industrial disciplines and industrial construction Knowledge and interest developing drawings of mechanical and electrical systems A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Michigan, office. NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided.
