Process Engineering Director jobs in Great Falls, MT

Clerical responsibility for serving civil and criminal subpoenas for municipal court or at the request of defendants.  Work is performed under the general direction of a Great Falls Police Support Services Captain or Lieutenant.

• Interacts with the public daily and researches locations to contact Great Falls Municipal Court witnesses to physically, in person, serve subpoenas.  
• Maintains automated records of service and delivers information to the court to account for proper returns.
• Delivers and retrieves confidential paperwork to and from Police Department, Municipal Court, County Attorney’s Office, and Youth Court pertaining to court business.
• Enters arrest warrants and orders of protection into the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN). Validates existing warrants and orders of protection in the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) database.
• Answers and makes phone calls to witnesses regarding service of subpoenas.
• Delivers commission work packets to Great Falls City Commission officials.
• Files all arrest warrants at Cascade County Emergency Services Communications Center.
• Composes, formats, and edits confidential information within the records management system to reflect accuracy for subpoena service.
• Completes monthly validation requirement of orders of protection and warrants between NCIC and Police Department records management system.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of office experience which included significant public contact.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to obtain CJIN/NCIC certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain certification to carry Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.) spray, which requires exposure to O.C. during training.
• Possession of a valid Montana driver’s license.

• Substantial knowledge of the principles and practices of law enforcement, legal terminology and municipal court proceedings.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information and data with an absolute degree of confidentiality and maintain confidentiality of protected, confidential Criminal Justice Information.
• Substantial knowledge of computer operations and software programs.

• Ability to maintain legible, accurate written records, develop reports, and enter confidential information into the department database. 
• Ability to maintain composure during stressful and demanding situations.
• Ability to be flexible in multi-tasking and balancing daily duties with minimal daily supervision. 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, attorneys, law enforcement and municipal court personnel and the general public.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills to provide information to the public; promote and provide quality customer service.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is divided between an office environment and traveling in a city vehicle to serve subpoenas and other required business related paperwork.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, reach, ride and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform light physical work and to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate a personal computer, office equipment and a motor vehicle; the ability to talk and hear in person or by telephone; and the ability to see and read instructions and reports.  

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

The work schedule is a 40-hour work week, Sunday through Saturday.   This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime. Overtime must be approved in advance. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday. 

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day.  Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
