Process Engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Description:
The process engineer will work to optimize manufacturing operations and processes within the client's manufacturing facility. They will be responsible for the day to day operations of the plant, troubleshooting machines and supporting continuous process improvement. In addition, they will drive safety efforts, support sustainable and waste reduction projects, cost analyses, and cap ex projects. This position is M-F, 1st shift. He/She may be asked to be on call on the weekends. They would not have to go in, but may need to assist with troubleshooting over the phone. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's in engineering and 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. It is preferred their experience was in flexible packaging, paper, or related. They must have examples of how they have supported process improvement efforts. This person will be leading projects and efforts, so ideal candidates will have experience with problem solving, leadership, communication, etc.
