Process Engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Arconic is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

    Essential Functions: The Process Engineer requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. Major duties include but are not limited to:

    • Utilize internal company and external training resources, become the subject matter expert on the departmental production processes.
    • Determine root cause for departmental quality issues, identify and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
    • Develop and track critical variables to analyze and report on production performance.
    • Analyze and implement known company best practices.
    • Assist in performing troubleshooting of the production processes as required.
    • Define, develop, and execute capital investment projects in support of the departmental equipment.
    • Assist in improving operator and maintenance technician level of knowledge on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Be willing to participate in external training opportunities, including hydraulics fundamentals, basic PLC troubleshooting, OEM equipment specific training, and other identified training opportunities.
    • Be willing to assume a leadership role within the assigned department to set and maintain standards of operation and safety.
    • Other duties as required.



    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering/Technology from an accredited institution
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting
    • Troubleshooting experience in an industrial setting
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. *730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
    • 2 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Proven organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
