Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.   • Position Overview

    The Process Engineer position reports to the Operations Manager for the Arkansas Kraft Division. This person will provide support throughout the mill by collaborating with various parts of the organization to optimize process systems through improvement projects that enhance safety performance, reduce costs, raise quality, increase production efficiently, and minimize downtime.

    This position will provide an accelerated development platform, exposure to a wide array of manufacturing processes, supplier development experience, customer service/technical service exposure, and a broad overview of career opportunities available within Green Bay Packaging.

    Responsibilities

    • Work in a team environment.
    • Participate in group problem solving activities, statistical data analysis activities, and facilitate the establishment of operational best practices.
    • Provide leadership to maintain and improve safe working conditions and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
    • Identify and complete immediate, short-term projects while maintaining a focus on long-term initiatives that support the Mill’s strategic vision.
    • Participate in the development of operational training materials.
    • Strive to maintain a knowledge base of the products, services, and capabilities of Green Bay Packaging.

    Qualifications

    • High degree of self-motivation and able to work without daily direct supervision.
    • An undergraduate degree in engineering is preferred, experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
    • The Process Engineer should have 5 years of recent experience working in a large industrial environment, preferably an integrated paper mill.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels.
    • Must be able to effectively troubleshoot, communicate, and utilize the resources of the Company to minimize process problems and waste.
    • Serve as a resource that removes barriers and helps our front-line employees excel in all aspects of process improvement and variation reduction.
