Process Engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Process Control Engineer is responsible for the programming and system maintenance of PLC's, DCS and HMI's. This includes the ability to read, create, and understand P&ID's, loops, electrical diagrams, and schematics. The Process Control Engineer is responsible for calibration, control instrumentation and system maintenance of the process analysis equipment at the Concentrator. The position also provides support for all other surface and underground facilities if needed.
